If, however, you are not satisfied, may I ask, why not?
Is it because of past mistakes?
Is it because you find spiritual concepts frustrating?
Is it because you do not know how to make progress?
Is it because you are not sure if you are satisfied or not?
Are there other reasons?
What do you think it would take to remove these roadblocks?
What is your answer?
Is it . . .
I need a reasonable argument for which path I should take?
I need an honest person to guide me though the process?
I need a clearer understanding?
I just need the will to do better?
If you find that you are not satisfied and cannot remove these barriers, would you like to find true spiritual satisfaction?
If the answer is “Yes,”
I would like to inform you that you are not alone in your journey in the search for spiritual answers.
There are million just like you.
There are answers, however.
First of all, you must realize that you are powerless to achieve favor with God on your own.
Even the Bible agrees with that fact. It says,
In Romans 3:23-26 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are okay before him. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past; for he was, looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” (paraphrased)
This is fantastic news, isn’t it?
However, did you notice?
When we carefully read these verses we find that we must believe Jesus is God’s answer to our problem. We must believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and that he has risen from tomb and is now alive forevermore.
Previously, Jesus told the people,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
Now, through the resurrection, he proves that he is able to fulfill that incredible claim.
This is why we believed that:
“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.” (1 John 4:9-10)
Now, if you truly believe this I want you to know that the Bible also says that “all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
So, you have rights as children of God.
And, as a child of God, naturally you will want to behave as one of his children. This may sound impossible but that is not the case “For God will then be in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13 paraphrased)
In this serious moment, will you now accept this marvelous gift and trust totally in God to guide you along the right path in your spiritual journey? Will you completely turn your will over to his care? Trusting that he will care for you?
If so, please say this prayer with me:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I believe that you gave your son to this world for my salvation and for the assurance that I have the right to become a child of yours for all eternity. I thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for me. On his merit and his merit alone I ask forgiveness for all of my sins and on the strength of your promises I now accept him as my Lord and Savior and ask him to come into my life at this very moment. Thank you Father and thank you Jesus for making this possible. AMEN
